Course Description

Provides students with practical, real-world experience with the various wireless network security core competencies. Specifically, the course provides the most popular hacking, cracking, and wireless security network analysis tools on a CD ROM and trains students to use them to assess and secure wireless networks.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand how wireless technology reduces the cost of expanding networks while at the same time increases exponentially network access and capability.
  • Understand how wireless technology introduces vulnerabilities that could open information networks to unauthorized users (i.e., hackers, crackers and saboteurs)
  • Understand wireless fundamentals (hardware, network protocols, programming, encryption protocols, wireless network threats, tools to test wireless security, and safeguards) and required core competencies necessary to design effective security measures into wireless networks.
