This course develops those skills necessary to design LAN and WAN networks, segmentation using routers, switches, and VLANs in a LAN environment, and wide area networking protocols. Cisco router commands and configurations will also be covered. The course will offer a balance of lecture and lab experiments. Elements of the Cisco® Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) professional certification exam will be followed throughout the course. Course is offered in the spring semester.
Demonstrate the ability to configure and verify Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)
Demonstrate the ability to configure and troubleshoot routing
Demonstrate the ability to configure and troubleshoot OSPF and EIGRP
Demonstrate the ability to configure and verify a basic WAN serial connection
Demonstrate the ability to configure and verify a PPP connection between routers
