Course Description

In this course, students review and analyze the compliance implications of selected cloud security policies and methods with a specific focus on the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) --Steps 1-3-- and the corresponding Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP)--Step 1.

Learning Objectives

Determine the compliance implications of federal cybersecurity policies for the various categories of clients they serve |Compare and contrast the application of the NIST RMF to civilian agency systems with its application to National Security Systems (NSS)|Conduct an analysis in order to categorize information systems|Perform an analysis to identify and select security controls (including the development of a monitoring strategy and a system security plan)|Utilize sound, ethical judgment in applying federal cybersecurity policies|Apply Certified Authorization Professional (CAP) Domains (See Attachment I) in the implementation of the NIST RMF|Apply secondary research to cybersecurity challenges
