The DoD IA Boot Camp is an in-depth study program designed so students may successfully perform their duties as IA professionals, to include Information Assurance Managers, Information Assurance Officers, or System Administrators with IA duties. This course will provide the student with DoD policy guidance as related to law, policy, technical implementation guidance, documentation requirements, and references necessary to support a successful DoD IA program.
An overview of information systems certification and accreditation principles, practices, and documentation as outlined in DoD Instruction 8510.01, the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) is presented during this course. The DIACAP training highlights the importance of enterprise risk management and the roles of key individuals, such as the designated accrediting authority (DAA), program manager (PM), user representative (UR), certifying authority (CA), CA representatives, and the IAM. The course includes a review of the DIACAP activities, and how the contents of a DIACAP package are generated.
