Course Description

In today’s job market, having the correct skills and qualifications will ensure you a competitive chance at achieving your employment goals. This course will enhance the student’s skills by focusing on basic desktop and network technology and experience HANDS-ON training with Microsoft Windows 7. During the MCTS – Configure Windows 7 course, the student will cover the following subjects: Installing, Upgrading, Migrating to Windows 7, Deploying Windows 7, Configuring Hardware & Applications, Configuring Network Connectivity, Configuring Access to Resources, Configuring Mobile Computing, Monitor and Maintaining Systems that run Windows 7, and Configuring Backup and Recovery Options.

The student can then take the MCTS: Windows 7 Configuration (70-680) exam to obtain his or her MCTS – Windows 7certification. After completing one exam, students can qualify to work as a Desktop Support Specialist or Junior Level administrator

Learning Objectives

Perform a clean installation of Windows 7, upgrade to Windows 7, and migrate user-related data and settings from an earlier version of Windows. Configure disks, partitions, volumes, and device drivers to enable a Windows 7 client computer. Configure file access and printers on a Windows 7 client computer. Configure network connectivity on a Windows 7 client computer. Configure wireless network connectivity on a Windows 7 client computer. Secure Windows 7 client desktop computers. Optimize and maintain the performance and reliability of a Windows 7 client computer. Configure mobile computing and remote access settings for a Windows 7 client computer.
