This course will provide students with a thorough presentation of the various types of white-collar crime identified by our law enforcement community. Students will gain insight into the motives behind white-collar crime and methods used by white-collar criminals to pursue their criminal endeavors. Students will also be presented with enforcement strategies and techniques.
Be familiar with the many ways white-collar crimes are committed
Know the essential elements of many of these crimes
Understand the evidence necessary to prove these crimes
Have an informed opinion on the appropriate response in resolving these various crimes - punishment, rehabilitation, education, deterrence - in order to accomplish the traditional goal of the criminal law -protection of the public at large
