Course Description

This course introduces the Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) concept, Security Threats to Industrial Control Systems (ICS), and the Reliability Standards developed by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). It's a live, 5-day training course that empowers students with knowledge of the "what" and the "how" of the version 5/6 standards.

Modules include information on the role of FERC, NERC, the Regional Entities, the development of the CIP Reliability Standards, and compliance measures.  Learn how NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) requirements address physical security and cybersecurity of the critical electricity infrastructure of North America. This NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) training course is a comprehensive overview of the CIP standards developed by Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and will help you to understand the requirements for personnel and training, physical security of Bulk Electric Systems (BES) cybersecurity and information protection.
