This continuing education course teaches professionals working in the information assurance/information security field how to protect their network using offensive techniques and tools. Topics covered, at a minimum, include (1) Footprinting and reconnaissance, (2) port scanning and enumeration, (3) hacking systems, web servers, and web applications, and (4) malware. During class, participants will gain hands-on experience with tools used during a penetration test. Content taught helps participants prepare in-part for the CEH v8 Certification exam.
Take and pass the Certified Ethical Hacker certification exam
Explain the basics of system hacking
Analyze basic concepts of footprinting and reconnaissance
Demonstrate use of hacking tools to assess the security posture of a system
Identify the mechanisms and techniques used to defend systems against cyber attacks
